Un peu de Français

Hey, how has your weekend been?

We have had rain shower after rain shower after rain shower here in Derbyshire!

Yesterday I started to think about a handmade Christmas. Yep, I know it's really early to say the big 'C' word but this year, I promised myself I would be organised and try and make as many presents as I could. Not just to save money but because to me, it will mean more. A lot more.

Ok, so I can't compete with the biggie toy brands for my little people so I am planning to make them one gift each to go with the rest of their presents which I hope they will appreciate just as much!

So my main focus is my family and friends. I want to give them something handmade by myself or from somebody whose work I love.

Here are a few of my ideas so far. If you have any ideas (especially ideas for the men in our lives!), please post below so we can all share with each other... thank you.

To see my Pinterest inspiration board so far and to see how to make some of the following please click HERE

Cute little purses for little ladies :)

For my foodie loving friends

For my girly friends

My Gran would love these (and pretty much everyone else I think!)

Friends who love to cook

I know exactly who I am going to make a little book for ;)

This lace doily bowl is so easy to make!

Cute zipper pouch

Porcelain paint pens!

I popped over to the Wirksworth Arts Festival today (which was near the end so I haven't got much to report about the actual festival I'm afraid) and visited 'The Vintage Rooms' shop that is on the main road. Lovely little place stacked with lots of French inspired recycled and vintage homeware and I picked up these little French jars which cost £3 each and are perfect for the body scrub I plan to make!

  3. Hi,

Oh i'm so glad its not just me thinking about christmas so early, I also intend on a handmade christmas this year so should really get started :-) I have found alot of inspiration from Kirsties Homemade Christmas on youtube, some brilliant ideas. Do you have a recipe for the lemon scrub and how do you make that doily bowl?

Excited to see more christmas inspiration from you.

  6. Some fab ideas there!
So far I've made sloe whisky for my menfolk and a monkey cushion for my nephew.
I bought some Garden Trading glass storage jars at the weekend and wasn't sure what to do with them but they would be perfect for body scrub (they were from Betty's Farm @ Willington only £1.20 each!).
